#1st Dan — Young Scholar of a Fallen Noble House

A collateral descendant of the Ashikaga house. More familiar with books than blades. On the battlefield, he stands two or three steps back and reads the battle's flow. Young, but careful with words.
#Background — How the Adventure Began
Ashikaga Sosui was born into a remote collateral branch of the shogunal house. The main house's authority was already gone, and his father had withdrawn to a small border lordship. But the shogunal education tradition survived, and from age ten, Sosui grew up reading Sunzi, Wuzi's Art of War, and the Spring and Autumn Annals.
At sixteen, his family's land was absorbed by a neighboring magnate, and Sosui was dispatched as an assistant military advisor to Kagura Domain on the condition of rebuilding his house. His first mission was advice for a small border clash: calculate the reload cycle of an enemy teppo squad and recommend the breakthrough timing. Using mathematical analysis he had studied since age twelve, Sosui predicted a 6.5-second reload gap, and Kagura Domain's spear unit broke through within that time. Success.
That was Sosui's first battlefield. He did not draw a blade once. But hundreds of enemies fell because of one sentence from him.

#5th Dan — Domain Strategist (軍師)

Promoted to official strategist of Kagura Domain. Direct advisor to the daimyo. He has recovered part of his fallen house's land. He specializes in Energy Transfer: handing his own Energy to allies to create decisive moments.
#Background — How He Came This Far
After 1st dan, Sosui spent four years participating in six major campaigns as a tactical advisor to Kagura Domain. During that time, he developed the technique called Energy Transfer: transferring 1 of his own Energy to an allied Lord-grade unit to create a decisive strike. It was the most efficient way for a scholar to move the battlefield without fighting directly.
In the third year, he established the Weak Point Analysis technique: observing an enemy unit and sharing its structural weak point with the team. When this technique combined with Masamune's Katori Shinto-ryu Attitude of Sen, Kagura Domain's spear unit brought down an enemy Elite-grade unit within 6 breaths.
In the fifth year, the daimyo granted Sosui part of his family's old territory as stipend land. Sosui accepted it and said, "It is still not enough. A house's name is only a name; it is not the house's deeds."

Kagura Domain army commander. No battlefield fought under his advice has been lost. His house has been fully rebuilt and elevated to daimyo grade. Yet he still stands in the rear of the battlefield and places marks on the map.
#Background — How He Earned the Renown Title
Sosui's legend lies in the organization of the Edoku Disturbance. When Hannyakai's multi-front yoma offensive threatened all Kagura Domain, he coordinated twelve fronts at once. Each front's tactics were made at his fingertips, and as a result Kagura Domain held every front. During that operation, he never appeared on the battlefield in person. His advice was delivered by carrier bird, by letter, and through spies.
The Renown Title War God (軍神) was given to him unanimously. One daimyo said, "I am glad he is on our side. If he were the enemy, we would already have lost."
