     Drift of the Spirit Realm — Character Creation Guide (Session 0)

 You are a person belonging to the domain of Kagamiyama, population 800.
 One night, the entire domain drifted into the Spirit Realm (靈界).

 The outside of the domain is ringed by 9 hells, and the inside is barely
 maintaining the living world's air through a single Barrier. This Barrier
 weakens every week and must be maintained by injecting cores.

 You are one person who will decide the fate of this domain.

【Instructions】

1. Cut out the outer disc and inner disc.
2. Insert a pin (thumbtack or metal pin) at the center so it can rotate.

In Drift of the Spirit Realm, a PC's mental state is tracked through
the Three Ways, the Six Hearts, or No Heart.

 Way of Rites (禮道)
  Loyalty (忠) — duty: guarding order, promises, hierarchy
  Hegemony (覇) — power: imposed order, cause, domination

 Way of Emptiness (空道)
  Compassion (慈) — reducing suffering: aid, forgiveness, protection
  Void (虛) — emptiness: indifference, despair, denial of the world

 Way of Mystery (玄道)
  Truth (眞) — harmony: respect for nature, coexistence, flow
  Demon (魔) — instinct: worship of strength, predation, desire

 No Heart (無心)
  A state inclined toward no Way. The character has not yet found a Way,
  or has lost belief.

【Heart Value Changes】

+ Increase causes:
 · Successful action aligned with the current Heart

【Basic Terms】

Spirit Realm (靈界)
 The spiritual dimension between or encompassing the living world and
 the afterlife. The space into which Kagamiyama Domain has drifted.

9 Hells
 The 9 levels that make up the Spirit Realm. Deepens from Level 1 to Level 9.

Barrier (結界)
 An invisible membrane that blocks the Spirit Realm's influence from
 outside the domain. Maintained by the onmyoji; strengthened by injecting cores.

Core (核)
 Crystals harvested from the Spirit Realm. Used to inject the Barrier.
 Grades: unstable · stable · high-purity.

Yoma (妖魔)
 Non-human beings that inhabit the Spirit Realm. Hostile, neutral, and
 friendly varieties exist.

Enmadoji (閻魔堂)
 A massive structure serving as the gate and court of the hells.
 Holds 3 axial seal pillars.

【Hell Levels】

Level 1 Dead Forest Hell:  north of domain, black forest, weak yoma
Level 2 Blood Lake Hell:   west of domain, boiling blood, aquatic yoma
Level 3 Scorching Heat Hell: east of domain, eternal fire, rain of ash
Level 4 Exchange Hell:    south of domain, mirror labyrinth, emotion trading
Level 5 Madness Hell:    hallucinations, risk of mental collapse
Level 6 Despair Hell:    loss of feelings, lethargy
Level 7 Mutation Hell:    risk of body and soul warping
Level 8 Time Hell:      time reversal, past phantoms
Level 9 Abyss Hell:     extremity, Enmadoji Core Zone

【Time Units】

Round (間合)
 Combat round. 1 round = approx. 10 seconds in reality.

Week (週)
 Domain management unit. 1 week = 7 days in reality.

Spirit Realm Time (靈界時)
 Time internal to the Spirit Realm. May not match domain time.

 Synonyms: fall, transfer
 Forbidden: do not call it "death"

#Tone Guide

  • Handouts must be placed in hand. Digital works too, but printing and distributing on paper changes how players remember the game.
  • Masking with care. For handouts with staged reveals like the Enmadoji map, prepare a way to cover them in advance (envelope, paper folding).
  • What belongs to the players belongs to the players. The romance checklist can stay private. The GM should not peer at it too closely either.
