Roll d10 twice to improvise an NPC personality. First roll = outward face, second roll = inner nature.


#Outward Face (Visible Demeanor, d10)

#How To Use

  1. Outward face(d10) + inner nature(d10) = base personality.
  2. Faction trait(d10) = faction belonging and distinctive color.
  3. Combine all three to complete an improvised NPC.

Combination Examples:

  • Taciturn(1) + Grudge(4) + Kagura Domain "Hometown burned"(6): A Kagura Domain warrior silently sharpening a blade. Their home village was burned by yoma, and their yoma-hunting is steeped in grudge.
  • Boisterous(2) + Pure(5) + Shuten Mountain "Misses human alcohol"(5): A loudly laughing ko-oni. Drinking human alcohol puts them in a good mood. Unexpectedly pure, so negotiation works.
  • Mysterious(10) + Secretive(9) + Biu Mountain "Has lived 300 years"(3): A wandering apothecary. Actually a 300-year-old yoko. Belongs to Biu Mountain, but is considering leaving.

An NPC is not data, but a person. Two dice begin one person's story. A third die decides that person's world.
