#Mid-Term Aftermath (Chapter 4)

• Double early Chapter 4 seal-truth clues: sealing-record decoding speed 2 times. In Chapter 4 Act 3, the PCs can secure the geographic coordinates of the "second seal axis."
• Barrier stability +: Barrier HP natural decrease rate -1/week (apply 1 time per chapter).
• Resident morale +1: the belief that "we protected the domain."
• No retaliation from the children of Kyoukan: they sleep together with the seal.

#Long-Term Aftermath (Ending)

• Return Ending required condition 1 fulfilled: the Return choice becomes available in the Chapter 5 ending branch.
• Settlement Ending is disadvantaged: narrative pressure that "a domain that covered this over has no right to remain." The Settlement Ending route requires 2 additional clues.

#Gain Return Clue No. 1

Return Clue 1 - Southern Axis of the Enmadoji Seal: in the core world, there is a second seal axis in the southern sea of the Kamijo family domain. It can be secured from the original sealing records. This clue is the first puzzle piece of the Chapter 5 Return Ending.

#Immediate Rewards

#Mid-Term Aftermath (Chapter 4)

• Opening this sea: when southern navigation is needed in Chapter 4, Kyoukan Daiou keeps the lake surface calm. Navigation check +1.
• Resident morale unstable: some residents think, "Reconciling with a yoma is a disgrace to the domain." Morale -1; a PC with Merit Heart can restore it by persuasion.
• Onmyoji Gensho's support: he welcomes this choice. Weakening progress slows.
• Children of Kyoukan friendly: when encountering Kyoukan-type yoma in Chapter 4, initial hostility -2.

#Long-Term Aftermath (Ending)

• Settlement Ending favorable condition 1 fulfilled: the PCs gain part of the "right to take root in this Spirit Realm."
• Return Ending is neutral: it does not obstruct return. It also gives no special advantage.
• Chapter 5 climax aid: Kyoukan Daiou can be summoned 1 time (powerful buff or large-scale purification ability).

#Gain Return Clue No. 1 (Alternate Route)

Return Clue 1 - Partially decoded form: its information density is lower than resealing, but when combined with Kasakura's supplementary testimony, it can be upgraded to the same level (in Chapter 4 Act 2).

#Immediate Rewards

#Blade of Screams (叫喚刀) - Special Weapon

#Mid-Term Aftermath (Chapter 4)

• Retaliation by the children of Kyoukan: in Chapter 4 Act 2, 2 Kyoukan-type yoma track the PCs (additional encounter). Increased Wounds, no Perception bonus.
• Resident morale neutral: the belief that "we defeated the domain's enemy" coexists with the belief that "we covered the sin to the end."
• Onmyoji Gensho's silence: he does not condemn this choice, but he grieves. Afterward, he speaks less to the PCs.
• Akihisa's Heart changes: his Duty gains the color of obsession. In Chapter 4, his lines become stiffer.

#Long-Term Aftermath (Ending)

• Transformation Ending seed: when the Blade of Screams owner's accumulated Heart wavering crosses a specific threshold, move to the Transformation Ending route.
• Return Ending is limited: possible, but with a "lonely return" tone. In the core world, the domain's name is recorded differently.
• Settlement Ending is impossible: the PCs cannot take root in this Spirit Realm. They are recorded as "those who covered it over, then ended it."

#Gain Return Clue No. 1 (Fragment Route)

Return Clue 1 - Fragment state: only 20% of the whole picture. The rest must be gathered separately in Chapter 4 and Chapter 5. The Return Ending is possible, but very difficult.

#External Domain Changes

#Barrier Northern Water Gate

• Stabilized (on successful navigation return): the water gate changes to a stable state. From now on, 2 additional voyages to this sea are possible (if needed in Chapter 4 or Chapter 5).
• Collapsed (on failed navigation): water gate collapse. Barrier HP -5. To open it again, an additional payment of onmyoji weakening +2 is required.

#The Domain's Self-Understanding

• End of the myth of "a land that has never fought a war": every resident learns it (if the report is made public).
• The name Irizaki: a small stone monument is raised at the domain shrine (dedicated "to the souls of Irizaki"). This monument occupies space through Chapter 5.
• Change in young Lord Akihisa: his Heart begins to crystallize. A turning point from child to lord.

#Long-Term Aftermath - 3-Month Domain Change Log

Domain changes for the GM to mention in fragments in future sessions:

#1 Month Later (Chapter 4 Act 1)

• A resident testifies that they saw Kyoukan Daiou in a dream (regardless of choice)
• Gensho prays at the northern water gate once every morning (3 times if resealing was chosen)
• Akihisa speaks less, but the weight of his words grows

#2 Months Later

• A visitor appears at the Irizaki monument in the domain shrine - an old woman among the residents begins visiting every day (she says the person was "my grandfather's friend")
• If gaijin Mine settled in the domain, she updates the fisher's map (3 sea areas made safe)
• Kasakura waits for the 1-use aid right to be used and occasionally appears in the PCs' dreams (peaceful tone)

#3 Months Later

• The domain's children begin singing a new song - "the sea of Kyoukan, our sea" (the adults do not forbid it)
• If Kyoukan Daiou's promise of aid exists, his lantern is sometimes seen over the northern water gate
• Sealing-record decoding is complete (resealing choice), in progress (reconciliation), or halted (subjugation)

#Next Chapter (Chapter 4 Shonetsu) Bridge

#Chapter 4 Opening Conditions

After Chapter 3 ends, 2~3 weeks of domain daily life pass, then the Chapter 4 opening trigger activates:

1. The "second axis" clue in the sealing records mentions the south
2. Gensho's nightmare: a repeated scene of bones ringing beneath flame
3. A dry hot wind begins to blow at the Barrier southern edge - if the northern water gate was a beach, the southern edge carries the presence of a desert
4. Kasakura's warning (if negotiation succeeded): "Do not go south. That way is fire. But if you must go, I hope you understand that I cannot go with you."

#Continuity with Chapter 4's Theme

Chapter 4 is Shonetsu Hell - flame, desert, pilgrimage. It contrasts Chapter 3's "water" with "fire."

• Continuity 1: the journey to find the sealing records' second axis. Movement from water to fire.
• Continuity 2: traces of previous drifters first appear in Chapter 4 ("there were others who came besides us").
• Continuity 3: the result of the Kyoukan Daiou choice becomes concrete in Chapter 4 Act 2 (helper appears / retaliator appears / silence).

#Chapter 4 Operations Whisper (GM Only)

The GM prepares in advance what the PCs will bring into Chapter 4 Act 1:

#Kyoukan-ryu Teaching Requirements (Unlocked in This Chapter)

#Teaching Eligibility

Requirements to gain formal teaching eligibility for 22-03 Kyoukan-ryu:

1. Complete at least conversation stage 1: complete at least 1 stage among Kyoukan Daiou's 5-stage conversation
2. At least 1 "sincere scream": complete the Act 4 reconciliation route, or a PC voluntarily shouts their own regret
3. Choose one of seal, reconciliation, or respect: subjugation + a merciless attitude strips eligibility

#Teaching Training (After Next Chapter Act 1)

• Teaching presider: Onmyoji Hoshino Gensho (or, if reconciliation was chosen, Kyoukan Daiou's summoned aid)
• Training duration: 7 days of training (in game), or 1 session training scene
• Training reward: unlock 3 Kyoukan-ryu techniques, remove Heart wavering -2

#Personal Branch (1 Per PC)

The GM offers each PC the right to choose 1 personal reward. Choose 1 from the following:

1. Sealing talisman crafting method: can craft sealing talismans personally in the next chapter (1 core + Merit Heart 3)
2. Enhanced underwater breathing: staying time +1 hour per breathing talisman (permanent)
3. Memory of the name: checks against Screaming Hell yoma +1 (permanent, but the memory is a Heart wavering target)
4. Kasakura or Mine affection channel: immediately secure Affinity +1 with that NPC in the next chapter

Just before ending the session, read the following slowly:

"The domain night deepens. The residents go to bed, and the Barrier breathes quietly. Each of you is in your own place. The warmth of the kitchen, the flicker of small lamps, the distant sound of boiling water - you no longer hear them. Instead, from somewhere, you feel one paper lantern flicker a final time. Whether that light was something that had to go out, or whether a long wait has ended - you cannot know. But when morning comes, one of the domain's children will begin singing a new song. 'The sea of Kyoukan, our sea.'"

#Appendix A - Return Clue No. 1 Detail Card

Return Clue 1 - Southern Axis of the Enmadoji Seal

#Clue Content (GM Only)

The following is written on the 3rd page of the sealing records (after decoding):

"The Enmadoji seal is made of three axes. The northern axis is the sea of Kyoukan (here, now). The southern axis is the desert of fire. The central axis is a mountain in the world of the living. If all three axes are released, Enmadoji awakens. A century ago, we of Irizaki made ourselves the voluntary medium for the northern axis. But the southern and central axes are in other hands."

With this information, the PCs learn the following:

1. The seal is not one thing but three (1 axis is secured in this chapter)
2. The southern axis is directly connected to Shonetsu, the theme of Chapter 4
3. The central axis is in the core world (the Kamijo family domain) - the basis for the Chapter 5 return narrative

#Appendix B - Gaijin Settlement Check

#Mine Settlement Conditions

• Mine's truth is revealed in Acts 3~4
• At least 1 PC explicitly proposes, "come with us"
• The domain northern water gate is stable

→ If the conditions are fulfilled, Mine settles as a domain gaijin. In Chapter 4 and Chapter 5, she takes the water-guide position.

#Tamura Rokujiro Settlement Conditions

• Affinity is formed with Tamura during the boat-oath rite in Act 1
• After the navigation return is complete, the PCs show gratitude
• Secure resources for the domain shipyard upgrade (20 additional bundles of timber)

→ If the conditions are fulfilled, Tamura settles as the domain shipwright.

#Kinugawa Eishi Settlement Conditions

He does not settle. He visits occasionally as an itinerant ascetic monk. However, if the PCs had a deep conversation with Kinugawa during the chapter, he makes an additional visit in Chapter 4 (helps craft additional water-gate talismans).

#Appendix C - Visualizing Domain Changes

The 3 visual elements to show players the domain's changes after the chapter ends:

1. Northern temporary harbor: small pier installed inside the Domain Barrier (permanent change)
2. Irizaki monument: small stone monument on one side of the shrine (permanent change)
3. Akihisa's sash color change: after the chapter ends, he changes to a black sash (mark of mourning, permanent change)

The GM describes these 3 elements once each after Chapter 4 as well, reminding the table of the domain changes.
