#Basic Class Alternate Techniques (基本18職 代替特技)

#§ Scent — The Same Class, A Different Path

The 18 basic core classes each choose from a limited technique pool at each dan (1/3/5/7/9). The direction that pool offers does not suit every player. Is the samurai always a Front Zone guardian? Is the ronin always a mobile striker? — Not necessarily.

This document adds 5 per-dan alternate techniques (1/3/5/7/9) to each of the 18 classes. Fully parallel to the original techniques — the choice slot is the same, only the effect direction differs. The core original techniques are not modified.

#§ Design Perspective

  • 18 classes × 5 dan = 90 alternate techniques. Parallel to every original technique. No core modification.
  • Explicit play-type branching: each class's 5 alternate techniques are 5 different branch directions. Keeps the original class concept while diversifying operation methods.
  • Numerical balance: Energy and bonus values stay within ±1 of the core original.
  • Linkage with auto-acquired general techniques: the gaijin's "Interpretation," the wildlander's "Hunger Adaptation," and the like auto-acquire new 03-general-traits techniques — a guidance that meshes with the class narrative.
  • Cross-references: foreign-related techniques (gaijin, hanyo) are recommended to link with 03-04 cross-culture and 02-03 foreign-origin backgrounds.
