#Creation Procedure

#Step 1: Choose Class

Choose 1 from 18 basic classes. The class determines battlefield role and growth direction.

#Step 2: Assign Attributes

Assign modifiers to the 6 attributes (Courage/Finesse/Physique/Wisdom/Presence/Fate).

  • Array Method: freely assign +2, +1, +1, 0, 0, -1 among the 6 attributes.
  • Or point buy: freely allocate a total of 4 points within the -1~+3 range (all start at 0, total +4).

#Step 3: Choose Background

Choose 1 from 13 backgrounds. At the very start, it is fine to lay out only the representative 6 first and choose from them. Origin background provides skill benefits and traits.

#Step 4: Assign Skills

See Skill System.

  • Class inherent training: 3 Novice + 1 Trained (automatic. See starting automatic skills at the top of each class document)
  • Background benefit: choose 2 of 3 → 1 point each (total 2 points)
  • Free choice: freely assign 2 points

#Step 5: Choose Traits

See Progression System 1st dan.

  • Class 1st-dan inherent trait (automatic)
  • 1 background trait (automatic)
  • 1 general trait (choose from list)

#Step 6: Choose Equipment

  • 1 weapon (choose from Weapon List. Classes have recommendations.)
  • 1 armor (unarmored Defense 10 / light armor Defense 12 / heavy armor Defense 14)
  • Other equipment: discuss with GM. → Equipment and Consumables

#Step 7: Decide Three Ways and Six Hearts

  • Decide Way (道) and Heart (心) in the Three Ways and Six Hearts system.
  • Way: Way of Rites (禮) / Way of Emptiness (空) / Way of Mystery (玄) / No Heart (無)
  • Heart: the bright heart or dark heart of the chosen Way. A 1st-dan character usually starts with a bright heart.
  • Record it on the sheet. It can shift during play by GM judgment.
