The core has no Deceit skill schools at all. This extension establishes 4. Replaces the new maneuvers of the core Licensed False Retreat / secret art Bluff of Strength.

#18-06-01. Actor-Style Deceit (俳優式僞言) — Famous School · Japan·the West

The doctrine of the kabuki・theater actor. Acting a falsehood as truth. Similar to 16-06-01 Actor-Style Disguise, but this school centers on deceit of words.

  • Addition: acting deceit — Deceit check +2・when performing before an audience +3.
  • Restriction: at close distance (1 zone), during a precise investigation, the danger of discovery +1.
  • Licensed: [Kata] Stage Deceit: Energy 2. Deceit check +3 (1 vs 1 or a crowd)・natural deceit for 1 session.
  • Secret art: [Kata] A Thousand Sincere Hearts: Energy 4. 1 session. speak a single falsehood as if it were one's own sincere heart (nullifies the enemy's Malign-Thought Perception (17-04-04)).
  • Approach: study under a kabuki・Western troupe is recommended.
  • Play-type: actor・acting.

#18-06-02. Swindler Deceit (詐欺師僞言) — Self-Taught Style · origin-irrelevant

The deceit of the city swindler. No dojo. Self-Taught Style. A gambler・a street fortune-teller・a fake religious figure all learn it. Specializes in short-term deceit.

  • Addition: quick deceit — 1 vs 1 temporary Deceit check +3・an effect limited to a brief encounter.
  • Restriction: a long-term trust relationship -2.
  • Licensed: [aptitude] Swindler's Intuition: 1 vs 1 temporary deceit +3・on-the-spot persona disguise possible.
  • Secret art: [Kata] Closing the Big Con: Energy 4. 1 session. close a big con on 1 target (a fake deal・fake information) — gain 50 gwan profit or information on the spot.
  • Approach: Self-Taught Style — staying in a city for 5 or more sessions recommended.
  • Play-type: swindler・gambler.

#18-06-03. Double Agent (二重諜者) — Secret Transmission · political society

A secret transmission of deceiving both sides between two camps. The Ming Jinyiwei・Western espionage societies, etc. The most dangerous deceit — on failure, execution from both sides.

  • Addition: dual identity — friendship with two camps simultaneously is possible. Obtain information from both sides.
  • Restriction: on discovery of identity, both camps immediately order execution (fame -3・flight forced).
  • Licensed: [aptitude] Dual Identity: friendship with two camps simultaneously +1・obtain information from both sides.

Cultural origin: deception disguised as diplomatic ceremony. Diplomatic envoys of Ming・Joseon・the West all learn it. Formal amity・actual hostility. Learning diplomatic ceremony is required.

  • Addition: diplomatic disguise — during a diplomatic ceremony, deception +3・after 1 session, hostile action is naturally disguised.
  • Restriction: learning diplomatic ceremony is required. a non-diplomatic seat -1.
  • Licensed: [aptitude] Diplomatic Disguise: during a diplomatic ceremony, deception +3・can feign amity.
  • Secret art: [Kata] Diplomatic Trap: Energy 5. 1 session. feign diplomatic amity → after 1 session, automatically grant the legitimacy of a hostile action (a pretext of the enemy's diplomatic violation).
