#5 Chinese Xian/Deity Conversions

Reformat: follows the core 08-02 yoma bestiary template stat-block format + applies this expansion's 00-05 §1–§15 settled rules.

Usually friendly. But on a moral failure they can turn hostile.

#55-10-01. Eight Immortals (八仙) — Elite-grade (friendly)

Scent: the 8 immortals of Daoism. Each has a different power (Lü Dongbin, Li Tieguai, Han Xiangzi, etc.). A PC can meet 1–2 immortals.

#55-10-02. Guan Yu Deity (關羽 神格) — Lord-grade (friendly, Loyalty only)

Scent: the form of the Three Kingdoms-era Guan Yu deified. Chinese/Southeast Asian warrior worship. The avatar of Loyalty thought.

Special:

  • Friendly to Loyalty PCs: a bonus to PCs of Loyalty thought (Three Ways and Six Hearts: Loyalty) — all attributes +2 for 1 combat on 1 Loyalty PC (aptitude-like protection).
  • Betrayal triggers instant hostility: on finding a betraying/treasonous PC, immediately turns hostile — the auto-trigger target of the [Licensed] above.
  • Negotiation possible: Presence >= 15. Only after Loyalty thought is proven.

Weakness: it is very hard for an ordinary PC to turn him hostile. Hostile only on conduct that violates Loyalty thought.

#55-10-03. Guanyin (觀音) — Elite-grade (friendly)

Scent: the bodhisattva of Buddhist compassion. Saves those in dire need. Forced hostility is almost impossible.

Weakness: Faith/Daoist purification. Indoor zones halve its abilities.

Scent: the Daoist dragon kings of the seas of the four directions (4 creatures of East·West·South·North, or 1 representative). Eastern dragons (a different concept from Western dragons).

Weakness: holy weapons + celestial rites (weakened when constellations align) + firearms (effect halved underwater).
