#18+12+3 Class Heian Guide
Contents
RP Guide (fc04 internal only). This document is a Heian-era application guide layered atop the 33 classes (18 base + 12 fiend + 3 outsider) of
co-04-07-classes/co-04-07-00-index.md. No new classes. No change to the co class bodies themselves.
#Opening Fragment — The Seat the Era Allowed
The player chose a modern-sounding class name. The GM nodded, and first asked where, within a Heian room, that class could be seated.
"My combat ability is plenty," the player said.
"That I know," the GM answered. "But in a manor of this era, do you sit beside the master, stand in the corridor, or wait outside the gate? Only once that seat is fixed do your actions come into view."
Another player laughed. "So there'll be things I can't do because of my seat."
"Exactly. And in exchange, there will be things you can do because of your seat." The GM spread out a map of the court. "The names a kuge may call upon, the gate a buke may enter, the hour an onmyoji may speak, the rumor a lady-in-waiting may hear. In Heian, access — more than ability — is what first makes the scene."
From then on, the build was no longer a choice of numbers but a choice of social position. Find the seat the era allows, and the class naturally gains its words and its actions.
#This Document's Place
co class structure = 18 base + 12 fiend + 3 outsider = 33 classes total.
- Separate meta:
co-04-07-00-index.md(class compendium) /co-04-07-99-expansion.md(expansion guide) - This document is a guide on how to use those 33 classes in a Heian campaign.
- No new classes — the existing classes as-is + era flavor.

#Heian-Limited Build Recommendations (6 builds)
#Build 1: Base Class samurai + borrowed onmyoji feats (Yorimitsu type)
Model figure: Minamoto no Yorimitsu and the Four Heavenly Kings (fc04-03-02).
Yabusame + some borrowed orthodox-Onmyodo shikigami. The model of the Shuten-doji subjugation party. Very powerful. Squad operation possible.
#Build 2: Base Class scholar + borrowed onmyoji feats (Michizane type / Shikibu type)
Model figures: Michizane (fc04-03-03) / Shikibu (fc04-03-04).
A kuge PC. Politics, divination, poetry and prose. Murasaki Shikibu leads with the scholar (poetry-and-prose build), with weak borrowing of onmyoji feats.

A shrine / court miko PC. A scenario guide or a PC. Purification rites, divination, Shinto rites.

A direct intelligence agent of the Fujiwara house. A variant that is not an orthodox ninja. No borrowing of a subclass. Centered on the social and Scouting.
#Build 6: Base Class arahitogami (special)
A PC who directly becomes a Heian divinity. A descent of bishin- / shoshin-grade divinity. Consistent with the fc01 divinity system. The celestial (outsider 34) has a separate Adaptation mechanic — different from borrowing.

A fiend requires GM permission. The same holds in Heian.

A class that suits Heian is not a matter of mimicking the era, but of finding the seat the era allowed.
