#Core Principles

Ability scores, backgrounds, skills, talents, equipment, dan advancement rewards, and dual build declarations are all checked in the order of co character creation and dan advancement.

  1. NPCs are built like PCs.

Each choice must express concept, class, region, relationships, Livelihood, and scene use, rather than maximizing combat efficiency.

  1. Implementation takes precedence over optimization.

Cases such as shinobi+ronin, onmyoji+arahitogami, scholar+onmyoji, and arahitogami+performer should read as PC build examples in their own right.

  1. Dual builds are also real PC build guides.

The ex1 Commoner is NPC-only and caps at Dan 9. Therefore the Commoner slot in the Dan 10 chapter is a Dan 9 Commoner Master Artisan.

  1. Commoners do not become Dan 10.

Weapons, armor, consumables, class tools, symbolic objects, masterworks, and Divine Treasures all go into the NPC card. NPCs above a certain dan can have masterworks or Divine Treasures.

  1. Equipment is part of the sheet.

If you use maneuvers, talents, spells, schools, equipment, or rules from ex1, ex2, or fc, attach a source badge beside the item. If there is no source, treat it as a notation failure.

  1. Source badges are mandatory.
