#Jiku Denkitan (時空伝奇譚)
Contents

Authority. This document is an index — it makes neither rules nor numbers. This volume mixes four authorities within a single volume. Variant rules are Campaign Module (the Variant level of
co-99-01— valid only when a GM adopts them), the values of new props are Data Catalog (the canonical text only within this volume), operation advice is Scene Tool, and short fiction is Fiction-Only — theauthorityin each document's frontmatter is the final standard. And two things that do not change whichever document you open. All variant rules in this volume are premised on GM permission, and fc cannot override thecocanon (Canon).

#Opening Words
This book is a book for the person who crossed into the wrong era.
When the night bus came out of the tunnel, there was no city. When they raised their head from the mire of a disaster deployment, the downpour was gone and the sky was clear. The radio waves were dead, there were no transmission towers, the words got through — yet only the road back was missing. The people of this era call the one who appears that way the spirited away (Kamikakushi). What the spirits hid was not only people. They hid the road back along with them.
The canon has already laid the road. Ten years before the canonical timeline — objects that came back across time, the Spirit-Realm Wandering Treasures, touched this world first. The objects came first, and the people followed. This volume is the direct successor of that canonical sentence. The stage is still the Sengoku — this volume does not add an era; it adds the person who crossed into the wrong era.
And the whole of this book is two questions. Who was he — the origin package laid over the modern person occupation, the Identity Set. What did he bring — the objects that came out of the backpack, and the ending attached to each one of them, the Depletion resources. You will soon learn that the answers to both questions face the side that dwindles. So the spine of the whole volume is this one sentence.
This book is not a book that makes the modern person strong. It is a book that gives the drama of a future being consumed.
The more the magazine empties, the more the battery sleeps, the more the Kamikakushi becomes a person of this era. The growth curve this volume gives is not ascent but naturalization (歸化) — at the place the last round departs, the story does not end; it finally becomes a thing of this world.

#Structure of the Book
The nineteen documents of this volume are woven from two pillars. The 01 series lays the cornerstone — the road coming in and the dwindling time — and on it the 02 series raises the first pillar (people) and the 03 series the second pillar (objects). The 04 puts on the roof, and the 99 stands beside the table.
#Meta (2 documents)
- 00-00. Index — This document.
- 00-01. About This Book — What it does and does not do, a guide to authority, and the division of labor with existing documents.
#Principles — The Road Coming In, the Dwindling Time (2 documents · GM required reading)
One chapter fixes the entrance, one chapter fixes the end.
- 01-01. The Principles of Drift — How one crosses over. The connection point to the canonical timeline, the handling of arrival (2 kinds of d10 tables), the declaration of address, and the alternate-history premise that "there is no canonical history (正史) to protect."
- 01-02. The Depletion System — The spine of this volume. The [Depletion] tag and 3 remaining-count units, the 4 stages of degradation, maintenance and replacement, and the standard data-card format that all cards follow.
#The First Pillar — The Identity Set: Who Was He (7 documents)
The former-occupation (前職) package laid over the modern-person occupation. Not a road to becoming strong, but a list of what one can lose.
- 02-01. Identity Set Overview — The 5 components and the operation rules, the canon-protection principle, background and ex2 compatibility. The grammar of the whole 02 series.
- 02-02. Self-Defense Officer — The only combat type. Two packages, combat-deployment type and disaster-deployment type, sixty rounds of time-limited firepower.
- 02-03. Rescue Worker — Police, fire, ambulance. The three branches of the protecting professions in one bundle.
- 02-04. Medical Worker — The miracle physician. The reckoning of three vials of antibiotics, the medicine that is completed only after the drugs run out.
- 02-05. Scholar-Teacher — The person whose occupation was to know. Not knowledge asked of the GM, but knowledge that remains as output.
- 02-06. Engineer — The mending hand. The only set that slows the whole party's Depletion clock, the forefront of era-contamination.
- 02-07. Civilian-Student — The person who was nothing. The weakest and freest blank slate — a re-illumination of the canonical modern person.
#The Second Pillar — Depletion Resources: What Did He Bring (5 documents)
The data cards of the objects that came out of the backpack. To every card, "A Handful of Story" and "Value After Silence" are attached — there is no number-only catalog in this book.
- 03-01. Firearms — Six cards and the ammunition economy, the price of gunfire, the dream of black-powder reloading. The touchstone of this volume's balance.
- 03-02. Gear and Supplies — The artifacts that do not fight. The things that protect the body, overcome the night, and save people.
- 03-03. Electronics — Communication devices whose communication is dead. The battery's remaining count is the remaining count of the connection to home — and "Yoma and the Lens."
- 03-04. Vehicles and Heavy Equipment — All cards GM only. Not equipment but a moving scenario. The double clock of fuel and deterioration.
- 03-05. Drifted Relics — The place where a silenced modern object takes on spirit-power. The last bridge to the canon, showing that the end of Depletion is not extinction but story.
#Operation (1 document)
- 04-01. GM Guide — The four campaign forms for putting the Kamikakushi on the table, the operation of the Depletion dial, the conditions and price of a return campaign, the control devices for era-contamination. The gathering place of this volume's safety pins.
#Appendices (2 documents)
- 99-01. Quick Reference — A summary table of all numbers and a remaining-count record sheet. The one and only sheet to lay out on the table during a session.
- 99-02. Sample Drifters — 6 samples by set who crossed over together on a single night bus, a common introductory short piece, and an impromptu one-shot procedure.
#How to Read
- If you are a PL. Skim the Set Overview and read the one chapter of your own set (the 02 series). Then, in the 03 series, find and read only the cards of what is in your own backpack, and preparation is done. There is no need to read the catalog through — in any case your future is one backpack's worth.
- If you are a GM. The two chapters The Principles of Drift and The Depletion System are required reading. Once you have the entrance and the hourglass in hand, choose the campaign form and the speed of Depletion in the GM Guide. Keep the Quick Reference on the table.
- If you want to roll right away tonight. Sample Drifters and the remaining-count record sheet of the Quick Reference — with those two sheets a one-shot stands up.
- The principle of permission. All variant rules in this volume are premised on GM permission. Each single set and each single card is a separate unit of permission — a table that blocks only the Self-Defense Officer and opens the remaining five is also legitimate.
#Connections to Other Volumes
| Volume | Connection point |
|---|---|
co | The standard for all rules. The modern person occupation, the Adaptation mechanic, the Spirit-Realm Wandering Treasures, the time-rifts of the timeline — the skeleton of the canon onto which this volume is laid. |
fc08 | The same gate from the opposite side — the yoma come out, the people fall down. Down to the spirit-body classification linkage of the "Yoma and the Lens" rule. |
fc05 | The grammar of objects and owners — the source of the "A Handful of Story" field. Refer to it when rolling drifted relics deeply. |
fc04 | The farthest end of the era axis. The first volume of the axis that this volume joins as the last piece — the night of the Heian. |
ex3 | The next era that the Kamikakushi never came to see. Refer to it when comparing how the same material is concealed and urbanized in Edo. |
fc09 | Roads and land. The source of "an unidentified vessel washed up by the water" in the journey-incident table is this volume's drifted relics, and the grades of the roads the vehicles run on are this volume's too. |
#A One-Line Invitation
"On the night the radio waves go silent, open this book."
A book is also a backpack — nineteen documents, packed only with as much as you can carry across on your body.
